Professor Azad Madni Receives IEEE SMC Society’s Prestigious Norbert Wiener Award

IEEE System, Man and Cybernetics Society’s prestigious Norbert Wiener Award in 2020 was presented on October 13, 2020 at the IEEE SMC Award Ceremony (virtual) to Azad Madni, professor of astronautical engineering and director of the Systems Architecting and Engineering program at USC Viterbi School of Engineering, for fundamental contributions to adaptive human-machine systems and intelligent decision aiding technology using model-based engineering approaches. The award was presented by Dr. Dimitar Filev, Awards Committee Chair, and Professor Imre Rudas, IEEE SMC Society president.

The Norbert Wiener Outstanding Research Award is the highest award given by the IEEE SMC Society to recognize significant contributions to research in systems science and engineering, human-machine systems, and/or cybernetics. This award is funded by the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society through an endowment administered by the IEEE Foundation.
