At the first in-person Institute of Industrial Systems Engineers (IISE) Annual Conference in three years, Professor Azad Madni received the IISE Fellow Award. The IISE Fellow Award recognizes outstanding leaders of the profession who have made significant, nationally recognized contributions to industrial and systems engineering.
Madni received the fellow award at the annual conference, which was held in Baltimore at the end of May.
Said President of IISE Bopaya Bidanda, “We are especially proud to include Prof. Azad Madni in the 2022 class as a Fellow. This Award, which is the highest level of membership that IISE can confer, recognizes his decades of leadership in the profession and his significant and internationally recognized contributions to industrial and systems engineering. He is also one of the very few distinguished members who has made important advances in the integration of industrial and systems engineering.”
Madni is the founder and CEO of Intelligent Systems Technology, Inc. a high tech company specializing in modeling and simulation technology for complex systems engineering, education and training. He’s the Executive Director of University of Southern California’s Systems Architecting and Engineering (SAE) Program and Professor of Astronautical Engineering in USC’s Viterbi School of Engineering. His previous positions include Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Perceptronics, and Simulation Research Leader at Rockwell International on NASA’s Space Shuttle Program.
